SLUDGE THICKENING MECHANISM
Mechanisms for concentrating sludge and reducing the volume to be stabilised
or transported. Installed on a concrete or metal tank, with a concrete or metal walkway in the mechanisms installed over a concrete tank.
The sludge that arrives in the thickener encounters a metal cylinder which slows the flow of the water and gets rid of any potential turbulence. The water is forced downwards in order subsequently to move towards the outside of the tank where it drains into a peripheral channel.
The sludge and organic matter carried by the water are deposited on the cone-shaped bottom, which is swept by the installed mechanism, so as to be transported towards the centre of the tank, where there is a well that collects them so that they can be discharged from the tank.
